2020 has been a very odd year in many respects, but it has revealed some really superb music. OUS is all about original music as opposed to simply strumming songs from days gone by.
There’s a place for that, but we believe that if the wider public are ever going to appreciate the magic of this tiny instrument, we need to expand our thinking and creativity. Below are what we consider the best and most creative songs from 2020.
When I first saw this track, I was blown away and continue to love it. Its everything a great original song should be, wonderfully constructed and performed.
Music for the Head and Heart is the BIG project which is an evolution from OUS. Select artists are invited to take part in the Songs of Hope shows. Jack and the Vox open this show and are absolutely stunning. They never fail to deliver and remain two of the very best entertainers.
Another superb artist that is always worth watching/listening to is Captain of the Lost Waves. This is music at its best and this is a truly superb performance with a great video from Nick Bloomfield. The Captain is also a terrific live performer and will be releasing a new album in 2021
